Got my job at Kohl's back. While I'd rather be at Mead, the money is more than welcome. I start register training on Monday.
Instead of getting a new Honda Fit, we're starting to look at getting a used car instead because the Fits are expensive and since they're so popular, it'll be hard to bargain for a better deal. So I've started looking online for certified used Hondas at the 2 dealers near here. So far, things seem to be looking up, even though I'd rather get a new car.
Instead of jumping right into my summer reading list, I started re-reading His Dark Materials. I love those books so much, and I just know that they're going to ruin the books with the movies. I did, however, start reading King's Lisey's Story, which is indeed on my list. I'm about 60 pages in, and it's proving to be rather interesting. Like several of his books, it's taking a long time to get into it, but the story is finally starting to get some intrigue. I think I'll like it--it's starting to sound a bit like a mystery, which is refreshing after all of the literary fiction I've been reading all year.
Speaking of movies and books, Beth told me last week that they're making a movie out of Ian McEwan's Atonement! I am so excited for this movie to come out. If you've never read Atonement, you really really really should. It's a great book. I'll have to wait on the movie though since it's coming out in December in limited release. Grrr.
I also got an A in my Beats class. Wahoo!
There is so much I want to get done over break, and nothing is getting done. Must break lazy habit.
