I should be doing my poetry journals and working on my story and doing poetry repsonses and my responses to the authors of the storiws I have to read this weekend. I must add a rant about these stories. I love everyone in my class, but of the eight stories I've read so far, only ONE has been even close to good. The rest are so....bad. I hate to say it, but they are. There are some good parts about of all of them, but fthey are riddled with so many problems, especially grammar ones. Since I'm a writing tutor and a grammar nazi to boot, I ahve no patience for bad grammar and am constantly correcting it on their stories. As an aside, most of these stories don't even have a defined conflict, or are based on a premise that can't work without more development (ie bringing a boy back to life using magical powers that are not even talked about in the story and then dying because somehow you gave your life force to the dying boy) . One story just ends where it shouldn't. One story is written ENTIRELY IN FRAGMENTS which made me twitch so bad that I could hardly read it. And it was not intentional fragments thrown in to call attention to something. The entire story was written this way. *eyeball twich*

I was also sorely disappointed to find out that I can't take anymore English classes other than the last two that I'm required to take, and my honours project. I now have to fill my spring quarter with elective crap and there will probab;y be nothing interesting offered. ARgh.

My Winter Quarter schedule:

Eng 410: Shakespeare. Taught by a man who is British and has an accent to die for.
Spanish 312: Conversation II.Taught by same prof I've had for the past 3 quarters. Will be cakewalk.
Tai Chi (hey I needed a two hour class)
Honours Project (ENG 498)
History 435: Tudor England. This is taught by the same prof. who taught that WWI Brit. history/lit course I took last spring. I don't like her, but it was too interesting to pass up. Expect lots of ranting about this one.
Philosophy 472: Philosophy of the Social Sciences. Required class. Will be cake.

*putters off to do real work*
